I try to manage bees without use of harsh miticides or prophylatic antibiotics. I make up winter losses each year by raising queens and making splits from my strongest survivors. I've been keeping bees most years since 1981. My experience includes working 1 summer for a professional beekeeper. I've attended a few bee seminars including Sue Cobey's queen rearing class. I teach a weekend beginner beekeeping seminar once each year at Tiller's International in Scotts, Michigan. I typically manage between 4 and 12 hives each season. survivors.
