| What characteristics do you use to select your breeding stock?: | I choose for gentleness, mite resistance, disease resistance, ability to survive Michigan winters well, that produce good honey crops. |
| Where is the source of your bees and what strain(s) are they?: | Most of my bees lines have come from VSH lines distributed from the USDA breeding program. I also have a bloodline from the Canadian Buckfast, as will as lines of local survival stock that seems to be performing well. I also have several bloodlines from the Purdue ankle biters. |
| Where do the bees overwinter?: | My bees overwinter in my Mid-Michigan bee yards all year. |
| Do the bees spend the whole season in your home location? If not, where do they go and when, and for how long?: | My hives and nucs stay in Mid-Michigan outside all year. I raise my queens here in Michigan. |
| Have your hives been inspected by an inspector?: | My bees have not been inspected. |
| Anything else?: | I raise a limited supply of queens so generally, do not have emergency queens for sale. Orders for queens will be filled as they become available on a first come first serve basis. Please write or call for more information. |
